Hank Taylor Posted April 16, 2014 Share #1 Posted April 16, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) When attending USC and working nights at North American I was able to trade in my rundown beetle for a 1959 1600 normal with only 6000 miles. Wow! I sure wish I kept her, the Porsche dam it. I couldn't afford the hot date! hank Welcome, dear visitor! Berth Posted April 16, 2014 Share #2 Posted April 16, 2014 I'm thinking the car could be restored. The hot babe? Not so much. My favorite Porsche, came thisclose to owning a '63 before the seller backed out at the very last minute. Love your photo, really fine.

Hank Taylor Posted April 16, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted April 16, 2014 It's now 2014. Time and gravity have had their way with the date. The Porsche? Thanks for reminding me, I agree, when I think I bought that beautiful Porsche for only $2900 in 1960 with only 6000 miles, it hurts me to think about it now. Yea the date and I have both seen better days!

Berth Posted April 16, 2014 Share #9 Posted April 16, 2014 Thanks for reminding me, I agree, when I think I bought that beautiful Porsche for only $2900 in 1960 with only 6000 miles, it hurts me to think about it now. Yea the date and I have both seen better days! I've driven a 1958 356 from Monterey down Big Sur to Moro Bay and back, still remember the marvelous handling. I've done it in a handful of cars since, the Porsche by far was the most fun. As for me? I was 19 in 1960. 5' 11.5". Today? 5' 9". Yes, time and gravity have had their way with me too. That really is a great picture, it portrays an atmosphere of another time.
