Lockley16 Posted April 13, 2014 Share #1 Posted April 13, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello Guys and Gals, I have a 1937 Black Leica Standard Model E that there were only 200 made, give or take. It also has a case that if it isn't original, it is the correct time period because it has D.R.G.M. stamped on the leather. Does anyone know what it is worth. I will post a couple of pictures. jaapv Posted April 14, 2014 Share #2 Posted April 14, 2014 Very nice, but the Forum does not do valuations.
250swb Posted April 14, 2014 Share #3 Posted April 14, 2014 Welcome to the forum, I hope you are planning to use it. It is easiest to look up similar camera's on Ebay for a genuine price that people are willing to pay, or check a dealer that has some in stock like Red Dot Cameras - Leica Cameras, Leica Binoculars, Metz Flashguns, Manfrotto Tripods, Leitz although other dealers are available. That it is one of 200 made in that year is neither here nor there, they are not rare camera's but it looks like it is in good condition, which is why valuations are impossible, you can't go on looks, it could be trash if the shutter curtain needs replacing etc. Steve
luigi bertolotti Posted April 14, 2014 Share #4 Posted April 14, 2014 Another useful reference : Standard black - Leica Screw Mount Cameras - LEICA As you see, asking prices vary in a wide range... and, presumably, all the above items are correctly working... apart our Forum's rules, it wouldn't be serious to give evaluations of such old items on the basis of pictures only. What is sure is that is original, looks cosmetically fine, has a value and a market.
