Advertisement Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Hi FlashGordonPhotography, Take a look here Melbourne, Australia Meetup 2.00pm May 3 at Il Solito Posto. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
baci Posted May 1, 2014 Author Share #42 Posted May 1, 2014 So, forecast for tomorrow is windy with rain and a max of 14 degrees. Old style Melbourne weather, and very good for the garden. Might prove hard to leave the warm and inviting confines of Il Solito Posto though!
erl Posted May 2, 2014 Share #43 Posted May 2, 2014 Trust me! Wet reflective pavements are magic in photos.
erl Posted May 2, 2014 Share #44 Posted May 2, 2014 Any interstate (or otherwise) visitors needing help or guidance may call me anytime on my mob. # zero, four, double 1, double 6, 5, 285 (number 'scrambled' to avoid internet robots snooping!) See y'all tomorrow.
MarkP Posted May 2, 2014 Share #45 Posted May 2, 2014 Lax, do you want to use the M9? More than happy to bring it along if you want but otherwise I probably don't need it? I'm going to use the Monochrom (not much colour in grey old Melbourne) and 50 Summilux.
MarkP Posted May 2, 2014 Share #46 Posted May 2, 2014 I love cold miserable weather. One can always put another layer on, but in the heat there's only so much one can take off!
MarkP Posted May 2, 2014 Share #47 Posted May 2, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Erl, is your grandson coming along?
MarkP Posted May 2, 2014 Share #48 Posted May 2, 2014 Do we need a computer to review files after the shoot? Just that I'd rather not bring my laptop down from Sydney.
erl Posted May 2, 2014 Share #49 Posted May 2, 2014 Erl,is your grandson coming along? Yes! He's using my M9-P. I have borrowed an MM. Should be a buzz for us both.
erl Posted May 2, 2014 Share #50 Posted May 2, 2014 Do we need a computer to review files after the shoot?Just that I'd rather not bring my laptop down from Sydney. The usual 'Challenge' procedure (not that we are bound to follow it) is to allow a set time for personal editing and or developing for those that shoot film. Then a thread is set up and entries posted to it. All forum members are then invited to vote for a set period and a vote count made to determine a winner. Actually, just participating is winning. Al this can be be discussed/decided on tomorrow. No big deal.

Lax Jought Posted May 3, 2014 Share #53 Posted May 3, 2014 Lax, do you want to use the M9? More than happy to bring it along if you want but otherwise I probably don't need it? I'm going to use the Monochrom (not much colour in grey old Melbourne) and 50 Summilux. Don't tempt me!!!! Don't TEMPT me!!!!!!!!! In all seriousness, I won't be able to hang around for the Challenge so it's ok, thanks very much for the offer though. Look forward to meeting you all in an hour or so. jrbelmuda Posted May 3, 2014 Share #54 Posted May 3, 2014 Wanted to say a thanks to Baci (Michael) for suggesting the meet, my wife Eileen and I had a great time meeting you all and participating. Look forward to the results of the challenge and the next opportunity to catch up. Very good of the interstate members making the effort in time and expense to come along, much appreciated. FlashGordonPhotography Posted May 3, 2014 Share #55 Posted May 3, 2014 Challenge was fun. But the highlight, for me, was meeting you all. Well worth the effort for such great company. Until the next one. Gordon
adespen Posted May 3, 2014 Share #56 Posted May 3, 2014 I loved the meeting and tall tale swapping. The making of new friends from digital acquaintances and the challenge of wandering and wondering around the City by myself lost in the zone. Thanks to whoever supplied the flash storm and the Guiness. Now for the difficult part of choosing images.
baci Posted May 3, 2014 Author Share #57 Posted May 3, 2014 It was great! A pleasure meeting you all and spending time in such a convivial and relaxing atmosphere. I look forward to seeing what we all managed to capture! We must do this again soon, maybe in summer to contrast the bleak and rain. I hope those that travelled to be with us had as enjoyable a time as those that are native to Melbourne and look forward to our next get together. In the meantime I believe to was Erl who (was) volunteered to manage the submission process from here.
MarkP Posted May 4, 2014 Share #58 Posted May 4, 2014 It was really good to meet everyone yesterday and put faces and personalities to those usernames. Hopefully we can increase the numbers for the next meeting. Can I suggest another city next time (not that I ever need an excuse to visit Melbourne), maybe Hobart or Sydney, maybe in six months or so? Regards to all, Mark Erl, are you enjoying your Monochrom/Noctilux files? Will you sell your soul to the devil for a Monochrom?
baci Posted May 4, 2014 Author Share #59 Posted May 4, 2014 Will you sell your soul to the devil for a Monochrom? I'm happy to sell his soul for one...
erl Posted May 4, 2014 Share #60 Posted May 4, 2014 Mark, the devil already has my soul!! I'm lost! I don't need that camera. I just want it!!! Hazza (Harry) my grandson and I had a great day, and evening. Thanks to you all who came and made it sooo good. More than I expected turned up. Very pleasing. I have had a good look at Hazza's pics. Hmm. Competition there. I have started narrowing mine down. Decision by evening. My suggestion is to allow everyone till Next Sunday(May 12) to select process and send their chosen entry to me at the following email address: leicashooter(at)optusnet.com.au. Include both your name and Forum User Name along with your pic and image title if appropriate. Come Monday 13, I will post all entries in the order I receive them, without names. Mine will be inserted randomly amongst the other entries. All forum members will be invited to vote. I think one week to vote should be sufficient. The result will then be posted with names for all to enjoy. I think we should also have an 'out takes' thread to further illustrate the fun we had because there are some great pics that won't be entered in the competition. However, it should wait until voting is finished so the identities are not divulged during voting. Any opinions, additions or disagreements with any of the above, please let me know and I will consider modifications. Primary objective is 'just for fun'.
