Second Camera GAS Attack

:D

Be forewarned ........

It's hard to put down and walk away.

The lens is nice with the EVF but I still prefer the Frankenfinder.

I'd only buy it with the Frankenfinder.

EVF for the M240 but I also have the Monochrom and M9.

I used to suffer from GAS, but mainly SLR/DSRL GAS.

Then I was cured when I found "my perfect" set some years ago, EOS 5D & EOS 40D.

The mirrorless cams have started my GAS again: NEX-3, NEX-7, Lumix GF3, Nikon1 V1...

But just recently my GAS has been cured again, this time by Fuji.

My Leica M8 now is my "second camera" I have to admit, my "first" cameras are the X-E1 and the X-T1.

The EOS stuff is all gone. Now, I am very happy with what I have and feel no urge to buy anything else.

Jono ....... Oh dear ....... Your experience mirrors mine so closely it is worrying ......

In my case it's the A7r that gets the chop and I settled on the XVario as my autofocus option. eBay calls for the rest ....... including the 55/1.8 .... which as I managed to put a tiny scratch on the hood will be a bargain .....;)

Interestingly I've swapped my A7 with a friend's A7r for a week (just to see you know) and I'm already thinking along your lines.

. . . My son is always right, and he says - sell the lot except the M.

Using the A7r prompted a different Epiphany

I thought it was only fair to revisit my GAS article - you'll see that there is another conclusion!

GAS & Mirrorless - revisited with humble pie

I've also lost track - I though your original conclusion was in favour of the A7 - but your latest link is to the same page with what looks like the same conclusion, while your post above says the Sony is what you're going to sell. Have I missed something?

" I am sort of considering a pre-ASPH 35 Summicron-M to pair with my 75 Summilux but at the moment the 40 Summicron is OK, and the idea of a WATE still floats around in the back of my head."

Is there anything wrong with the images produced by the 40mm Summicron? I have been thinking of replacing my 40mm with a late 35mm Summicron pre-asphere but don't know whether the benefit would be clear in practice. Should I go to the expense of renting such a 35mm for a week?

Thanks:)

Philip
