Mystery Leica Adapter

Juat as an idea... it looks part of some focusing stage equipment... around the Focoslide (or the Reprovit ?) breed...; Leitz N.Y. made and catalogued by itself many accessories for those kind of equipment.... I wonder what "40 mm" does refer to....

Any idea where I could find a list of Leitz NY catalog numbers?

Could it be part of the Focorapid system??

I'm no help on the adapter, but I bought my M2 and its 35mm Summicron from Willy in 1965. The camera is still with me in fine working condition and the store long gone, alas. I spent many a lunch hour peering at the leicas in the glass case. fine memory

Compliments !!! Looks like a COOMI, indeed...

Leitz Leica New York Accessory Lot | eBay

(though I haven't found a proper evidence of the equivalence of codes COOMI=11076; surfing on ebay, I found it was made also in chrome)

Anyway...I feel satisfied for my suggestion to search "around Focoslide"

Yes, Luigi, there was a chrome version of the COOMI, and I remembered I had both in my Fontenelle Collection. It took me a few minutes to find the picture hereunder, illustrating various E.Leitz New York (ELNY) rings.
