Advertisement Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Hi marcg, Take a look here One Journey, Two Cameras: The Sony A7r and the Leica M Monochrom. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted March 1, 2014 Share #2 Posted March 1, 2014 To be honest - I am very much taken by the Monochrom images. They kind of eclipse the A7 ones, although those are nice as well.
w44neg Posted March 2, 2014 Share #3 Posted March 2, 2014 Fantastic photos. I just can't like the A7 or A7r. I tried one and instantly hated it. The Leica is different and the MM images I keep seeing are making me consider one, as they just have such great contrast and detail. For now, the M9 is my favourite camera. wda Posted March 2, 2014 Share #4 Posted March 2, 2014 For such an extensive and important trip, you were extremely brave taking a new untried camera as an all-round general travel camera. I doubt very much I would have done so. I enjoyed your pictures. Thank you.
billo101 Posted March 7, 2014 Share #5 Posted March 7, 2014 Nice pics, the MM portrait nr. 11 is beautiful. b
michali Posted March 8, 2014 Share #6 Posted March 8, 2014 Agreed nice images, thanks for sharing! I'm just finishing up a 7 week safari and have been travelling with exactly the same kit- A7R and Monochrom. I've had the following lenses with me: R Lenses: 19mm Elmarit 28-90mm Vario Elmar 105-280mm Vario Elmar 280mm f4 APO M Lenses: 12mm C/V 28-35-50mm Tri Elmar I am really impressed with the seamless ease of swopping M & R lenses around on the A7r. Hi Mike Please could you elaborate on the use of M and R lenses on the A7®. Accessories, adapters etc. Also, does anybody know if there are adapters for M39 available. michali Posted March 9, 2014 Share #8 Posted March 9, 2014 Hi Tom, I had previously changed the mounts on my R lenses to Sony Alpha mounts using Leitax mounts, as I was using them on a Sony Alpha 850 DSLR. When I bought the A7r I purchased the Sony LA-EA3 adaptor which is an Alpha to E adaptor for my R lenses: Sony A-Mount to E-Mount Lens Adapter (Black) LAEA3 B&H Photo I also purchased a Novoflex M to E adaptor for the M lenses: Novoflex Adaptor Leica M Obj. f. Sony N, NEX_LEM: Amazon.co.uk: Camera & Photo My LTM lenses have LTM to M adaptors attached and can be used directly on the Novoflex M to E adaptor. If you want a dedicated LTM to E adaptor: Kipon Leica M39 LTM LM39 Lens to Sony E NEX Adapter NEX 5 6 7 5R 5T C3 F3 A7 A7R | eBay I trust this answers your questions.
