SteveYork Posted March 15, 2014 Share #41 Posted March 15, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Keep the 35mm lens and get a 90 -- that's all you need. This is the classic minimalist outfit. The 35 on the typical rangefinder is a match made in heaven, but it is a hard lens to use on a rangefinder. Most include way too much extraneous stuff. That's why I say get a 90 because it teaches your mind to only include the critical stuff. The 50 Summilux ASPH is a great lens, I owned one from when they came out in 2005 to about 2012 when I got out of rangefinders, but most of the time I grabbed for a 50 Summicron when I wanted that focal length. In my mind, the Summilux was just too big and heavy for a rangefinder lens, unless I wanted the extra stop of speed. In reading through there seems to be a sea change regarding size and weight of M lenses. People don't seem to mind as much as they used to about bigness and heaviness. Maybe that's because a lot of folks are coming from SLR systems.
