MirekE Posted February 2, 2014 Share #1 Posted February 2, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am curious about what raw developers (other than LR) people use for M240 files and why. Thanks!
Advertisement Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Hi MirekE, Take a look here Favorite raw developers for M240 Files?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
fotomas Posted February 2, 2014 Share #2 Posted February 2, 2014 Hi, I use CaptureOne. Never get familiar with LR. Now the CC license also drove me away. And in C1 I can apply my own ICC-profiles. I get results I like, but I'm still learning since I just started. f-)
HeinzX Posted February 2, 2014 Share #3 Posted February 2, 2014 I use Photoshop CS5 for my M240, I do not like LR very much. If I would have to change because of not Leica reasons - my Canon 5 D III is the last one supported by the last available RAW developer for CS 5, I would think about either C1 or Dx0, but up to my present knowledge I would rather take C1. chris_tribble Posted February 2, 2014 Share #4 Posted February 2, 2014 LR5 - love the work flow, love the asset management resources, love printing from it, love the web slideshow resources. Nik Silver Efex. Invaluable for final preparation of B&W images for print or for web. PS CC - but only from time to time.
george + Posted February 2, 2014 Share #5 Posted February 2, 2014 Capture One. I like the way it works and the files it produces.

tgm Posted February 4, 2014 Share #9 Posted February 4, 2014 Photoshop CC and Capture1 6.x Pro. Sometimes Lightroom 5.x Does Capture One 6 provide a profile for M 240 files? My experience, Capture One 5 gives very detailed images but with a slight magenta cast. Capture One 7 while supporting M 240 files runs only on 64 bit machines. Lightroom 5 and Photo Ninja give nice colours but less details than Capture One 5-7 and run on also on 32 bit PCs.
PabloR Posted February 5, 2014 Share #10 Posted February 5, 2014 does anybody know how to work with "soft color" style on computer. "soft color" is an adjustment under a profile Leica M apply to the raws inside the camera, giving then a JPG. So, does anybody know how to do that on computer? --- I work with all the softwares, also phocus for a hasselbad in my job. I would like Lieca develop their own tool. I think the sensor is powerful, but today we are loosing quality on our files. excuse my english P
jaapv Posted February 5, 2014 Share #11 Posted February 5, 2014 If I knew what the heck "soft colour" means it would be no problem to get there in any of the leading image processing programs...

250swb Posted February 9, 2014 Share #13 Posted February 9, 2014 "soft color" is an adjustment under a profile Leica M apply to the raws inside the camera, giving then a JPG. So, does anybody know how to do that on computer? It may vary with your software, but for instance in Photoshop (and I imagine Lightroom) I would reduce 'Vibrance' and also perhaps 'Saturation' depending on the image.
