NordHiker Posted January 29, 2014 Share #1 Posted January 29, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have to admit I never got sharp pictures when using a 135mm lens on my M´s before. But now with the M 240 and EVF it works great, of course. One of my sons with his schoolband. Apo Telyt 3,4/135mm, 1/60 sec, @3.4 ISO3200 MonoPod, Welcome, dear visitor! algrove Posted January 29, 2014 Share #2 Posted January 29, 2014 I used to get decent hits with my M9, but the hit rate is altogether better with the M240.
MarkP Posted January 29, 2014 Share #3 Posted January 29, 2014 I agree. The EVF has revolutionised my use of a number of lenses when used at or near maximum aperture: 3.4/135 APO-Telyt 1.0/50 Noctilux with its thin DOF and focus shift 1.5/50 ZM C-Sonnar (for the same reason)
mirekti Posted January 29, 2014 Share #4 Posted January 29, 2014 I use it with a 1.35x magnifier, and didn't find any issues in focusing. EVF is 99% of the time in the bag.
Guest redge Posted January 30, 2014 Share #5 Posted January 30, 2014 I have not had a particular problem focusing the 135mm Tele-Elmarit on my M3, but I can see that it might be a problem on later models. On the M 240, live view and the EVF definitely help, and the lens is a pleasure for close-up work with a Leica Bellows II. Love the photograph
Guest redge Posted January 30, 2014 Share #6 Posted January 30, 2014 Sorry, that should have been "Tele-Elmar".
jaques Posted January 30, 2014 Share #7 Posted January 30, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) i managed to do reasonably well using 135 lenses on the m9- and when it hits the RF is still much quicker and more pleasant than any evf. Zooming with the EVF for focus can be sea-sickening at times...
Ecar Posted January 30, 2014 Share #8 Posted January 30, 2014 I agree. The EVF has revolutionised my use of a number of lenses when used at or near maximum aperture: 3.4/135 APO-Telyt 1.0/50 Noctilux with its thin DOF and focus shift 1.5/50 ZM C-Sonnar (for the same reason) ... not to mention a long list of old rangefinder lenses, AFAIC - and particularly the otherwise wonderful Sonnar designs, which could sometimes be hit-and-miss.
