jbl Posted January 29, 2014 Share #1 Posted January 29, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone know what the little black piece of plastic on the base plate is for? It goes right over where the card slot it, but it's visible on the base plate. Initially I thought it was to allow you to get the card out without removing the baseplate but now I'm wondering if it's weather dealing. The manual doesn't seem to reference it at all. jcraf Posted January 29, 2014 Share #2 Posted January 29, 2014 It's a cut out in the baseplate metal to allow wi-fi capable SD cards to communicate with other wi-fi devices.

jcraf Posted January 29, 2014 Share #4 Posted January 29, 2014 Initially I thought it was to allow you to get the card out without removing the baseplate Some owners have apparently, and erroneously, cut out the black plastic area thinking it was just for that. Bad idea.......

algrove Posted January 30, 2014 Share #8 Posted January 30, 2014 So now to the question. How many are successfully using Wifi with their M240 SD cards?
jdlaing Posted January 30, 2014 Share #9 Posted January 30, 2014 So now to the question. How many are successfully using Wifi with their M240 SD cards? I tried one. It worked well for what I did.........close transfers to the computer without removing anything from the camera. Downside is the card is just too slow for camera startup and record speed and transfer speed. My cure was the Luigi Bottom Plate with the door and half case with the door.
