Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted December 31, 2013 Share #5 Posted December 31, 2013 It's a stunning lens - shame no VR on your M but on your Nikon bodies its the very best. Wide open an amazing lens. If you ever get the chance, try the 200-400mm Nikon lens - that is one superb piece of glass.Paul I have an adapter for Nikon to Leica and will grab a few shots with it tomorrow, but as I am sure you know I bought this for my Nikon
chris_tribble Posted December 31, 2013 Share #6 Posted December 31, 2013 My experience with the Canon 300 attached to the M 240 is that if I'm carrying this much weight of glass I'd rather attach it to a DSLR - autofocus, VR and the rest make such a difference with this length of lens. Given the sorts of budget involved in getting a lens like this, the cost (and weight) of a D-600 will hardly be noticed. My ideal combinations these days are the M-240 for primes from 18 through to 135. I then add a 5D2 + 70-200 and 300 for jobs which need longer lenses. Chris I am keeping the M for 21mm to 90mm and anything else will be with Nikon D4........using the right tool for the job
DigitalHeMan Posted December 31, 2013 Share #8 Posted December 31, 2013 The 300/2.8VR is certainly a wonderful lens, I have taken some shots I am really happy with with mine. Also works well with teleconverters making it a very flexible and relatively compact lens (at least compared to my 600VR).

Rick Posted January 1, 2014 Share #10 Posted January 1, 2014 Better late than never. It proves to me there is still a Santa. I heard a rumor that you are a major warehouse of Leica equipment for Santa. Next time you see 'em would you put me down for a second M body and a new 50 APO? Happy New Year, Rick

Next time you see 'em would you put me down for a second M body and a new 50 APO? Happy New Year, Rick Done, but he told me his elves will not have any APO50 until the end of next year for you. As far as an M, he could get you one for Valentine's Day if you want one that soon. Happy New Year all.
