robert_parker Posted December 27, 2013 Share #1 Posted December 27, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) HI Everyone Just to say that I and my colleague, The Artist Formely Known as Farnz, will be prowling the streets of The City of Light (and ideally also Paris ) taking photographs and researching a possible London-Paris Leicameet. We will be visiting during the period commencing late afternoon of the 31st December to the evening of 3rd January - it would be great to meet up with any Forum members or Leica enthusiasts during the visit. If you'd like to meet up please let us know by pm or by e-mail to mail@robertparker.biz For anyone working in Paris during the day we will also be found at The Frog and Rosbif at the southern end of the rue St Denis, just off the rue Turbigo (116 rue St Denis 75002, nearest Metro Etienne Marcel FrogPubs - The Frog & Rosbif in PARIS ) on Friday 3rd from 12.30pm It would be great to meet some French members and renew acquaintenances with some old faces. pascal_meheut Posted December 27, 2013 Share #3 Posted December 27, 2013 And remember that if you wander north up rue St Denis you'll be able to make friends with strangers by the hour! Not a good idea: the law is changing and you can be fined 1500€ if you do so. On a happier note, I'll be pretty busy during these days but I think I'll be able to join you for lunch friday the 3rd. Happy holidays, New Year and so on till then.

stunsworth Posted December 30, 2013 Share #10 Posted December 30, 2013 Have a glass or two in the Frog for me. I used to go there quite often on Sunday lunchtimes. Brunch to eat, beer to drink, and live jazz to listen to. Happy memories.
christoph_d Posted December 30, 2013 Share #11 Posted December 30, 2013 Gentlemen, Thank you for the invitation, unfortunately I won't be able to join you. No doubt the days will offer ample opportunity to test your Leica gear, and I look forward to ( hopefully ) admire your images on this forum shortly. Enjoy! Best regards Christoph
earleygallery Posted December 30, 2013 Share #12 Posted December 30, 2013 Have fun in Paris, and what's this 'event' you're researching?! I wondered if the Frog was still there, as I thought it was affiliated to the Firkin pubs here which have - as far as I know - all now gone. Must get over to Paris soon myself. lanetomlane Posted January 7, 2014 Share #17 Posted January 7, 2014 Be interested to hear about the outcome of your Prowl and the feasibility of holding a forum meeting there. I see you've already found a suitable watering hole. Cheers, Tom

I see you've already found a suitable watering hole. Cheers, Tom It was the start and end point of the Paris One Challenge! There was an England match on when we returned and the bar staff brought round plates of orange quarters at half time, which was a nice touch. It actually went rather well with their 'home brew' beer.
stunsworth Posted January 7, 2014 Share #19 Posted January 7, 2014 The other place I used to regularly frequent was the Trappist at Chatalet. Toulouse & frites plus a couple beers. Very pleasant.
