stuny Posted December 20, 2013 Share #1 Posted December 20, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) On West 19th Street, just west of 7th Avenue is Rootstein's NY offices of a UK firm that makes fabulous fashion mannequins (female) and dummies (male). Every two or three months they change their windows and I enjoy going by there early in the morning to gawk at their displays. Here are some shots from their latest display, Fashion Circus. allamande Posted December 24, 2013 Share #7 Posted December 24, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Very interesting to see them at the source, so to speak. There is some sophisticated choreography here, especially the last image. Your control of the light is amazing. Ece

Guest redge Posted December 25, 2013 Share #9 Posted December 25, 2013 There is very little glare/reflection going on in these photographs. Is it just time of day (early morning) or are you doing something, e.g. polarizer, to reduce it? Will have to drop by this shop. Hadn't heard of it before. Thanks. k_g_wolf ✝ Posted December 26, 2013 Share #10 Posted December 26, 2013 Talking about reflections, AFA I can recall, these fashion people do not at all reflect the average modern american human being. Far too skinny ... Nevertheless, some great photographs, stuny. Thx for sharing! Best GEORG

stuny Posted December 26, 2013 Author Share #12 Posted December 26, 2013 Gary - Thank you. George - Thank you, and you are quite right regarding reality and the "fashion ideal." Redge - Thank you. The vast majority of my window photos (you might want to go into my site to Photo Galelries > New York City > Shop Windows) are when it is dark out, most frequenlty early morning before foot traffic becomes problematic. We should meet sometime: stuart.nordheimer@opco.com.
