farnz Posted December 23, 2013 Author Share #23 Posted December 23, 2013 Further to my post above about tube service disruptions, I note that the link is a date offset link so it increments itself every day and by Friday, for example, it won't be showing Saturday's tube disruptions but those from another day. So instead please use this link and enter Saturday 28th yourself after clicking the "Future Dates" hyperlink towards the top of the page. I've put my order in for some decent weather so we'll have to see what turns up. Pete.
roydonian Posted December 24, 2013 Share #24 Posted December 24, 2013 Having shaken off a pre-Xmas cold. I'll try to be there - assuming that my local rail service condescends to run trains that day... Best regards, Doug

Chuck Albertson Posted December 27, 2013 Share #28 Posted December 27, 2013 Pete, I'll be there. It will take a bit of a workaround on the Tube with the District Line being down in my neighborhood this weekend, but I should crack it. Chuck

farnz Posted December 28, 2013 Author Share #38 Posted December 28, 2013 Thanks to everyone who came along and made the day such a pleasant one. Special thanks to the new-comers and I hope you felt welcome, thoroughly enjoyed the day and will come along to more. Special thanks to Chuck for travelling all the way from Seattle just to join us. (I know you pretended that there were other reasons for travelling to London but I think we all know that the real reason was to meander with fellow forum members.) MI5 will doubtless be scrutinising the photos they will have taken as we drooled on the plate glass window at Spycatcher - and combing the archives for mention of a covert group that carries Leicas … Pete. farnz Posted December 28, 2013 Author Share #40 Posted December 28, 2013 For reference for those who expressed interest: - the first Dickensian back street (with no name) that we looked at was off Cross Keys Close, which itself is off Marylebone Lane - the cheese (La Fromagerie), chocolate (Rococo) and butcher's (Ginger Pig) shops are on Moxon Street off Marylebone High Street - the Wallace Collection is on Manchester Square. - the venue we finished up at is 'The Coach Makers of Marylebone' on Marylebone Lane Pete.
