lct Posted February 5, 2016 Share #21 Posted February 5, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Last time i tried on my M240 results were so blurred in the EVF that i did not insist.
Advertisement Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Hi lct, Take a look here Tri-Elmar 28-35-50 question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jeff S Posted February 5, 2016 Share #22 Posted February 5, 2016 I'd like to see a redesigned MATE (or other tri- or bi-focal length M lenses) along the lines of the WATE, which does act as a true zoom and, as I understand it, is less complex internally than the MATE. A 35-(50)-90 would suit me fine. Jeff

A 35-(50)-90 would suit me fine. Jeff I would also be a customer for such a redesigned version. Maybe we could call it a NATE I typically carry my MATE with the macro Elmar 90 in my pocket. If I could get all this in one f4 zoom of similar size I think I would accept the slightly reduced quality from carrying equivalent primes. A zoom design would require me to use the EVF, which for my personal uses would be a step away from what I enjoy about the rangefinder design. With no way to reduce the complexity required to select the frame lines I doubt we would ever see such a thing, but it's a nice thought.

But it would be nice to have the option to occasionally and seamlessly use in-between FLs by estimation and/or LCD verification. Of course the EVF would provide more accuracy if needed. And maybe the new M will provide capabilities that provide more viewing flexibility. Jeff
