Advertisement Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Hi IWC Doppel, Take a look here Spring into Bath, April 19th, Easter Saturday. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Gibbo Posted April 11, 2014 Author Share #82 Posted April 11, 2014 Terry, I shall be keeping this thread alive during the next week and shall provide my mobile number via pm to anyone requesting it. If you don't mind, I shall not post it on the forum. I hadn't really given any thought to how late we shall be finishing and reckon it's up to the individual. I shall see on the day based on how much ear bending I get from Lynn Pete, a tenner on the day will do nicely. I also heard today that Dave Bevan intends to join us. I've had no joy in getting him to sign up for the forum though
gravastar Posted April 11, 2014 Share #83 Posted April 11, 2014 This is looking like an Easter weekend rail disaster for me. There appears to be no direct trains on the Peterborough line into London. Trying to circumvent the cancelled services by disembarking at Finsbury Park assumes the Victoria or Piccadilly lines will be running. In addition there appears to be no trains entering/leaving Paddington. Services turning around at Ealing Broadway. See this report. These cancellations make the timing of a difficult journey impossible . So everyone check your transport details very carefully. On line bookings make no mention of the problems. I'm still trying to find a way, but it's bleak. Bob.
Gibbo Posted April 11, 2014 Author Share #84 Posted April 11, 2014 That's not good, Bob. Hope you do find a way though!

farnz Posted April 11, 2014 Share #86 Posted April 11, 2014 The National Rail site is showing the following for Saturday 19th April: "Trains from London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads / Cardiff Central will depart earlier than the normal timetable, with some trains calling additionally at Didcot Parkway." No mention of no services entering/leaving Paddington. I'm not sure the DM's information is accurate. (Who'd have thought … ?) Pete.
andybarton Posted April 11, 2014 Share #87 Posted April 11, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a 4 hour drive each way to get there, allowing for traffic, and I will be in the dog house if I don't get back at a reasonable time, so I will not be staying late. dunos Posted April 15, 2014 Share #92 Posted April 15, 2014 I have always been a fan of the Charlotte Street car park, but it rather depends on the direction you are coming from. It is also significantly more expensive than park and ride which might be a concern. Cya on Saturday.
Gibbo Posted April 15, 2014 Author Share #93 Posted April 15, 2014 The time to meet is still 11:30am at The Tasting Room, 6 Green Street, Bath, BA1 2JY, 01225 483 070. It is on the first floor and I think they are reserving tables in the back room which is to your left at the top of the stairs. All of a sudden it's only four days away

Jimothy Posted April 15, 2014 Share #95 Posted April 15, 2014 I, too, intend to use the park and ride. Even for two of us it's cheaper than parking in town.
