Colin1974 Posted November 16, 2013 Share #1 Posted November 16, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Better late than never, but I've just had delivery of a Ricoh GXR with 28mm and 50mm lens Modules. Wow! Great image quality, you can customize to your own way of working, and an extremely handsome piece of hardware. I know people say that this system is going obsolete, but all that means is that you're left with a durable and capable camera system at a very affordable price. I use an M6 and Sony A900, but am thinking of selling the A900, as my photographic interests have changed and the Sony is no longer practical for me needs. Colin. Advertisement Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Hi Colin1974, Take a look here My new Ricoh GXR. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Steve P Posted November 16, 2013 Share #2 Posted November 16, 2013 Hi, Colin. If you have M mount lenses then be sure to pick up the A12 M mount module for your GXR. Outside of a Leica body these lenses perform better on the GXR than all other digital alternatives, especially as it is a native M mount and no adapter is needed. This is particularly true of wider lenses. My experience of shooting with the Voigtlaender 15mm f4.5 and the Zeiss biogon 25mm f2.8 has been, and continues to be, a pure pleasure. Also, the A12 M module has no AA filter, so it's nicely detailed. Hope you enjoy your GXR.

Stealth3kpl Posted November 17, 2013 Share #4 Posted November 17, 2013 The gxr and M module is one of the two digital cameras I don't mind using, the other being the M9. It's great for trekking being light and compact., especially in conjunction with the Voigt 25/4 color skopar 20130905-R1035079 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! The GXR and M module is great for trekking giving digital SLR quality results without the bulk and weight. Despite having recently acquired an M240, I still value the GXR and continue to use it. jankap Posted November 18, 2013 Share #6 Posted November 18, 2013 I regret, that they didn´t build an APS-C Leica. The lensor principle was a nice idea, but not for a unit with interchangeable lenses. I hope, that they will design a new version with a strong EVF in stead of the flash unit. I use it with a fixed mounted Hoodman lens now. Jan

The lensor principle was a nice idea, but not for a unit with interchangeable lenses. Jan I purchased 3 M units and keep the lenses mounted. Swapping lenses therefore lessens risk of dust or rain getting onto the sensor. A full frame version would be superb. Pete
