Ivar B Posted November 12, 2013 Share #1 Posted November 12, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) A friend of mine just took delivery of an M (after a long wait)! After a day or two she finds that there is a red line going through all photos - I am not sure how well it will show up on your screens, but I can see it quite clearly on the left hand side. This must be a sensor error? Has anyone experienced similar problems? Welcome, dear visitor! dwbell Posted November 12, 2013 Share #4 Posted November 12, 2013 Meaning? Am I missing something? The good ship "Leica QC". Send it back.
algrove Posted November 12, 2013 Share #5 Posted November 12, 2013 Tell the dealer they gave you an imperfect camera and you want to exchange it NOW.
jip Posted November 12, 2013 Share #6 Posted November 12, 2013 Yes she should tell her dealer that after waiting THIS long she got a faulty camera and she just wants a exchange. No shipping to Leica or that bullshit, just exchange immediately.
Stealth3kpl Posted November 12, 2013 Share #7 Posted November 12, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I think it needs pixel remapping. Pete
Marac Posted November 22, 2013 Share #8 Posted November 22, 2013 My M had a row from left to right across the top of the sensor about 1cm down and when i sent Leica the photos they said to send it back to them for replacement.. eventually I took the camera back to the outlet it was purchased from and they gave me a brand new M. The new one is fine. Shame that after a LOOOOONG wait there has to be concern for sensor issues on a camera that expensive but sadly the QC is getting a bit slack. They honoured mine and I am sure they will honour yours
thighslapper Posted November 22, 2013 Share #9 Posted November 22, 2013 Stuck/dead pixels are a fact of life with digital sensors and can happen at any stage. Not necessarily missed by QC ..... most sensors will have a few that need mapping out so this is always checked. There will be no argument about swapping for new...... or re-mapping ..... which is a simple process.
