Jan, i printed an old IIIa advertising as a poster ("In Ihre Hände eine LEICA")

the poster at the wall.. ..what is it?

Rob, this a "to be continued by forum members"-thread, so feel free to post the forgotten gear.

btw. neck straps are for older girls (mostly fitted with "other" diamonds than Leicas:D )

Ron you have left out the most undersetimated Leica product.....the ever saving neck strap.

Of the five ever built, one was lost when the owner was shot by police in the park, the other confiscated when the owner went to prison on fire arms offences, one was turned by the mother of the collector geek during a fire arms amnesty that coincided with the collectors trip abroad to indulge his other fetish, collecting rare and endangered stamps, another went holidaying at Guantonomo Bay and we just dont know when or if he and it will ever surface, and you could have this one...from...

Can you imagine what might happen if you used that to take pictures of the White House or Buckingham Palace?

It must be safer to use than my Noflexar 400.....:o

Blimey, that looks like an unhappy cross between an UZI and a laser gun out of a 1980s sci-fi film. The 'Tamarkin' accessory looks like something Lee Harvey Oswald might have used.

Actually it looks more like a SAM launcher in reality, it is big. I must take it to one of those plane-spotter spots near the airport one day....:D

IF it is original, a nice accessory officialy listed by Leitz before WWII, and its code was...

RIFLE... E.Leitz people were nice with these 5-letter codes...the first Leica had code LEICA, the first Elmar lens was coded ELMAR, the first Elmar 90 (long focus) was coded ELANG... the first Telyt 200 TELOO, all euphonious names, then, with the explosion of items, the strangest coded appeared, like XOONS or ESNAR or YMOOL...

It could take 135 200 or 400 lenses, with a complex film advance mechanism, a strange long viewer for a reflex box that was ALMOST like a Visoflex I). Very rare, maybe less than 10 made... Zeiss made a similar device for Contax.

P.S.: I had given a look at the picture... something strange in the finder... in the wooden shoulder arm....mmmhhh .... smells not so good...

Luigi,

Stan Tamarkin is one of the more reputable US dealers in Leica collectibles. On his site the RIFLE is listed as being original, I am sure that he would not make such a mistake. Don't forget that not all RIFLE units were identical, as most were basically hand made.

Best,

Jan

Well..... maybe not a Leica accessory, since I made it myself from a few Leica parts. Credit has to go to Walter Benser who designed and sold a similar item in the 1950's and 1960's.

Perfect when travelling with two bodies - one body around the neck, the one with the lens carrier on the shoulder. Both loaded with film and with four lenses ready for immediate action.

Ron -WOW, that is one incredible assembly of Leica goodies...I never thought of stacking my accessory lens holder in quite that fashion. My wife would probably have me committed if she saw me carrying that collection around.
