Stealth3kpl Posted October 23, 2013 Share #1 Posted October 23, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've purchased a tool to line up my images vertically. I've read somewhere that I should use a little acetate to melt the glue keeping the assembly stable. Do I just dip the tool in acetate then hope it comes off the tool in the right place?? Also, should I be trying to apply glue following adjustment? Perhaps melting the glue isn't necessary? Pete
Advertisement Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Hi Stealth3kpl, Take a look here M9 vertical rangefinder adjustment. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
TonyField Posted October 23, 2013 Share #2 Posted October 23, 2013 I have not done this in years However, a very small drop will soften the locking glue. The adjustment should be done while the glue is loose. Unless you accidentally removed some of the glue, simply let it re-dry and it will be stable. A Q-tip would work better but be careful not to dribble the acetone around. A small drop is all that's necessary.
Stealth3kpl Posted October 23, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted October 23, 2013 Ah yes, clerical error, I meant acetone. Acetate's a material. Thanks for the tip. I thought I'd just dip the tool in the acetone. Pete

sblutter Posted January 21, 2014 Share #7 Posted January 21, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I got mine from someone in China - Ebay? I forget. What I do recall is chickening out! Adjusting the angle of my glasses was easier - am pulling focus just fine. G'luck - or try DAG repair. He does a great job, also quick and reasonable
