There are three Leica 35-70R lenses - four if you count both of the 35-70/3.5 Sigma designed models … and five including the Angenieux but which does not appear in The Leica Pocket Book 8th Edition.

Apologies the 35-70/3.5 lens was a Minolta design - two versions with same optical design but different mechanics. Sigma designed the 28-70/3.5-4.5 versions 1 and 2.

I bought 35-70/2.8 with $9000....

But it’s too heavy. Not light focus ring..

I sold 10,000 : )

I hate zoom lens. I only keep primes.

I love R9 + 50 !

I do not recommend to try 35-70/2.8.

It’s waste of time.

Depends how it's used; for some photographers it's a very useful lens; 1050g is a manageable weight.
