dfdann Posted April 12, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted April 12, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have not yet received my filters from Leica. Should I go ahead and update to 1.102 or wait until I have the IR filters? Thanks, Dan

jonoslack Posted April 12, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted April 12, 2007 Absolutely Dan I'm not sure how much difference there is without filters, but a day's shooting tells me that it's certainly just as excellent as before.
robsteve Posted April 12, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted April 12, 2007 Firmware 1.102 doesn't have any great benefits without coded lenses. Other than minor bug fixes over 1.092, I think the majority of the changes were regarding the use of IR filters . Since the option to turn on the IR filter corrections is only available with coded lenses, the true benefits of 1.102 will only be seen once you have coded lenses. Â It is not just the cyan corners that the UV/IR correction changes over 1.092, but I think there is an overall change in colour balance too. I am not sure if this colour balance change is just UV/IR filter related or just an overall change in colour balance with the new firmware. I don't know how you would test this though.
