wattsy Posted December 20, 2013 Share #41 Posted December 20, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Do I detect that you're a left-eye photographer, Ian? No, right-eyed and right-handed. I suspect I'm in a minority, Pete but it's always felt cack-handed to me to hold the camera the other way.

IWC Doppel Posted March 10, 2014 Author Share #42 Posted March 10, 2014 I was walking round town, camera in hand by my side, a misjudged move by another struck my camera hard with a bag and knocked it clean out of my gip.... But all good as it was left dangling from my fingers, another one of my 9 lives. That would have been ugly, paving slabs and a my 28 Summicron with rare hood This has now saved me at least 3 major 'drops'
stephen.w Posted March 11, 2014 Share #43 Posted March 11, 2014 I guess that depends upon how you hold the camera. I always shoot portrait with the shutter release "down" (viewfinder at the "top", right hand taking the weight of the camera). The other way seems very uncomfortable and counterintuitive to me.With your thumb on the shutter? This is how I hold the camera vertically, so wouldn't be able to use any of these loops. No, right-eyed and right-handed. I suspect I'm in a minority, Pete but it's always felt cack-handed to me to hold the camera the other way.I'm left-eyed (and left-handed) though.
