farnz Posted April 10, 2007 Share #1 Posted April 10, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've been experimenting with infrared photography with the M8 recently and this is one I took today on the way to Wakehurst stately house in Sussex. The crop is oil seed rape, which is a vivid yellow but it also seems to work well in IR. I think the sepia adds a touch of warmth that straight b&w would lack. (What do you think?) Thanks for looking and your comments are, as always, very welcome. Pete. M8, 28/f2.8 ASPH Elmarit with IRay IR pass filter. Advertisement Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Hi farnz, Take a look here Big sky in Sussex B&W & infrared. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted April 11, 2007 Share #2 Posted April 11, 2007 Pete - I'd call it a success. I very much like the other-worldliness of it, it's details, the amazing sky, and the toning, which as you wrote, enhances the photo.
johnwolf Posted April 11, 2007 Share #3 Posted April 11, 2007 Pete, I like the scene and composition, and especillay the many angled segments. But on my screen, at least, there is a fairly strong magenta cast that seems unnatural. The post work overpowers the content, at least for me. I'd experiment with compromise between what you have here and reality. Just my opinion, though. John
