Rick the bottom of the case has a tripod mount basically you screw the tripod into the bottom of the case not into the camera

If the case doesn't in turn screw to the camera then obviously you don't want to use the combination with a heavy lens.

Does not sound very stable - that will be one wobbly camera.

Jaap you can always take the case off when shooting on a tripod like all the other cases..............I wont know until I try it but try it I will:D

The mount in the case is no way near stable enough for a tripod. So I figured I'd use it for something else - mount for a handstrap using an old Luigi strap and a Camstrap adapter.

.... better to just drill a hole in the right place and use a longer screw on the tripod plate to compensate for the extra thickness ..... screw direct into the M baseplate ....the combination of the rubber on the plate against leather actually produces a very stable fixture when sandwiched between camera and tripod.....

No need .........if it wobbles then I will do the same as everyone else and that is take the case off.

I shoot 90% street photography so will not be using a tripod that offten

A while ago I bought for my M9 a Luigi 1/2 case with the screw in the base for tripod work thinking I was so clever - big mistake. I really got the shits having to get a coin or whatever to unscrew the case every time I needed to access the battery or SD card. So I stopped using the case!

I then cut off the screw protruding into the case with a dremel cutting disc - now the case is much more useful.

Comparing Luigi with what I got is like comparing apples to oranges

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm very impressed with it and will consider a black one for my M240 when it arrives. But I really don't want a case secured by a baseplate screw.

Regards,

Mark

Nah, I've already seen too many Chinese wearing a Leica as a fashion brand in Hong Kong and Shanghai...no reason to add my wife to the mix.

Don't be a cheap Charlie buy the old lady a case

For me a half case needs to do two very important things. One, it needs to provide a superior grip, and two, it needs to cover, protect and hide the rear LCD and buttons. IMHO this design does neither very well. It is true they are very well made (I had a look at one in Hong Kong) but for me the Luigi Harmony case is superior in functionality and aesthetics.
