lct Posted September 12, 2013 Share #21 Â Posted September 12, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) The "Russian" battery is legit. I have one sample like that. As for the hole it's just plastic, i would just tape it as suggested.
Advertisement Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Hi lct, Take a look here M8 BATTERIES. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
steamboat Posted September 14, 2013 Share #22 Â Posted September 14, 2013 Short rant not meant to offend. Life is too damn short. I just don't see any economy in using 3rd party batteries. There's enough to worry about while photographing. I always buy the OEM batteries. I may have to skip a latte or 20 but I just get the OEM. In the case of my M8.2 I have three. One in the camera, one in a very small case I always carry in my pocket and one at home near the charger (or in a backpack if traveling). I just bought a new battery to have on hand with winter coming up. I've rotated through all my original batteries and am on the newer Leica versions. When your automobile needs brakes do you shop for the cheapest brake repair you can get?
lct Posted September 14, 2013 Share #23 Â Posted September 14, 2013 I don't count them anymore but my 20 to 30 batteries woud have cost me a lens if i had bought originals. In 10+ years of digital practice i did not get more than two duds and i've never met a camera problem due to faulty generics. Pity that i did not find one for my M240. 2 x 95 = 190 EUR for two original batteries! Just a ripoff if you ask me.
