A small word of caution however. I ordered the grip handle model assuming ( ah, there you go again, making an ... of you and me) that it was designed to accommodate the grip/back plate option from Leica I bought and love, a couple of months ago. To my surprise, Luigi's grip is solid and does not accommodate Leica's grip plate. No huge problem, I just put the original bottom plate back on and moaned over the $150 I could have saved if I had bought Luigi's solution first. So if you were prepared to buy both it's like getting Luigi's for half price :-) Â By the way, if you feel you may ever use a tripod, I advice you get the special screw (US$ 40) do not forget to indicate it in RED MASSIVE FONTS or he will forget to put it. I approached Luigi abiut this in February and he said he could make one as he has a grip and the M8. This was before I received my M8 so I didn't order it then. I already had a black A & A wrist strap and got the Luigi strap anyway. People who see the black case aon the black camera say it looks like their father,s camera when they were growing up. Posted April 8, 2007 Share #8 Â Posted April 8, 2007 I also have the half case with the built-in grip and hanging-back; it is a great solution both for protecting your camera and for the grip. I don't know about you but I wish the M8 had a flip around screen like the RD-1. I don't really care to review my pictures right away; it takes away from the shooting experience. Also, those screens are so fragile, they get scratched too quickly. The hanging-back on the luigi case is a very good solution. The fit is not perfect, but pretty good. I was concerned that I would be pushing the buttons through the leather without noticing, and therefore draining the battery, but this has not happened. the built-in grip is nice too. Â Bought the half case, with handgrip and tripod screw, really recommended. Â Since I use the half case as protector and grip, and store and transport in small billingham, I never put screen flap on. If I were to order again I would order without flap and snaps, Luigi informed me he could make one like this, ie no back flap and no snaps (x4) on the case. Â I ordered the hand strap, which works well with half case and storing in Billingham case. Â Wish their was an easy way to get battery charged and download pictures without having to remove cases and M8 bottom plate. For example, an easily accessible USB port that also charges the camera. Wireless perhaps? Â I also ordered for a friend a full case. Different use, but works well. My firiend loved it until he used my half case with handgrip. He would love a full case with handgrip. I would think you would put your hand thru it on the right(like a ski pole) and then hold the camera by the grip. When you buy the tripod screw ...it screws into the camera? If you are not familiar with his line of cases, please ask him or others. You will never be disappointed by his cases so long as you understand what you are getting. You don't absolutely have to do this, as the case will fit without tightening the tripod screw to the camera, but you'll want to do this in order to make use of the tripod screw for its intended purpose.
