M240, setting the clock?

How do you adjust time so the correct time is shown in all the sets?

When first turned the camera on, I set time in the main menu, used the time zone and summer time adjustment (+1 hour, and summer time on). When using the user profiles, the time is 2 hours ahead.

I have not a GPS unit mounted.

How do you set up the time, so you when travelling to another time zone, can adjust the time with changing zone and summertime, and make it working also in the user profiles, so the correct time is shown?

First set the time zone, then set the clock. From then on, when you travel, all you need to change is the time zone.

The problem, as far as I understand it, seems to be that the time zone setting gets saved into the profiles. So, when you travel and change the time zone you'd better not switch to a different profile because that would restore the original time zone.

Explicitly set all your user profiles to the same time zone.

And yes—the fact that the time zone setting is included in the profiles is a hard-to-believe firmware bug.

My time settings are perfect. What's the problem exactly?

The problem is, as described in the thread, that the time do not change in all the profiles.

Different time in the default profile and user profiles.

When setting the time once, it should be correct and present in all profiles.

Well, I have only two user profiles and the time is the same on both so I still don't see the problem sorry.

The issue is that the time zone setting is stored in the user profiles. It mustn't but yet it is.

Futhermore, changing the time zone setting does not simply apply the new time zone to the time; it converts the time to the respective time zone. This makes sense when you're travelling from one time zone to another—but in conjunction with the previous point poses a problem.

Because when the time zones stored in your user profiles are different for each profile then switching between profiles will also (apparently) change the time.

I have not the camera with me here but i'm 99% sure the default time is GMT (London typically). Then if you're a Londoner travelling to France or Germany, you will change the time zone (+1) and possibly the daylight saving time (+1 again) for your trip and the camera will keep those settings in memory for further shootings with no problem at all. Better save those settings in a user profile though if you plan to travel again in the same countries. Anyway, when you return to UK, suffice it to set the user profile to default and you'll get the GMT again. Am i missing something?

It cannot be so because the default profile is GMT and yours is GMT + 2. Just set the default time as GMT and save your user profiles as you like.

Step 1 - reset the camera to factory defaults

Step 2 - set the time + zone

Step 3 - set up your profiles

Step 4 - export your profiles to an old SD card and put is somewhere safe. This can save a lot of time if future FW changes or other reasons cause you to have to reset the camera.

I agree it's odd that the profiles are linked to time zones, but this way you shouldn't have a problem...
