Sometimes these colors are going crazy on their own :)

After many months I took my Vario to the wild this evening. In Potsdam (near Berlin) the had some illuminations on different buildings and I thought it would be the right place to bring the Vario. Here is one of the results, which once again showed to me, how malleable the files from this nice camera are. When I took this 30 second exposure, it was pitch dark and the only thing vaguely visible on my screen was the illuminated tower of the so called Church of Peace:

Was a pity for the page change...this image should be seen :)

X Vario is a great camera but don't leave yourself out of the equation. Patience tenacity and vision all were at play here! :)

Thank you all for your kind words and feedback. You might be right in saying, that the photographer makes the picture, but nonetheless the right tool has an important role in this process. And the Vario as a tool delivers in an outstanding way. Before I grabbed the Vario yesterday, I thought about taking one of my film cameras, but in contrary to the Vario I wasn't sure if I would be able to find the appropriate times for the long exposures I had in mind. With the result shown before I am very happy about my decision for the Vario.

Another exposure from yesterday evening. Not quite as good as the one shown before, but I like the dynamic in it. With these newly made experiences I feel the urge to go out again and search for more spots for night photography.

Hah! That was back over a month a go that I made the exposure...it was the first one w X-Vario.  I guess it's been downhill ever since :) I distinctly remember I wanted the light to be red in the photo but missed my decisive moment when light turned green.

Its never the camera! :)  No, I really love the XV, and the V 113 too. I've always like fast glass (mainly for bokeh) but XV has me composing differently. it will be fun to take traveling.

Some Cinque Terre shots.

I posted this first one a while back, but it was suggested (thank you) that there was more in the shadows. I have since found out how to use "Shadows" within LR.
