Dunk, this is an impressive series of fine illustrative pictures showing stages in a plant's life. It also reveals the photographer's athleticism. Well done, young man. (I would need assistance at both ends of that activity )

It's hard work taking photos in the "  'ills 'n 'ollers' " as the locals call it ... Barnack 'Hills & Holes' is a 50 acre myriad of undulating hillocks ... a former Roman limestone quarry and now a site of Special Scientific Interest. I planned to go back there today but I'm aching and need to recover. No gain without pain. Next trip I have some new 'grippy boots' to try out which I hope will make climbing easier.

More pics later ... including some taken with the X1 :)

I experience a similar effect when using a polarizing filter and have to remove the hood and shield the lens with my cupped hand.

In this 1600 pixel wide example I exported the jpeg, in the save as dialog, as "save for web" - legacy, and adjusted the jpeg quality to 60%, yielding a 585KB jpeg. It probably goes without saying, I got to the jpeg stage from DNG.

The image continues my fascination with space, depicted, and arrangement of space within the rectangle. Another element I adhere to is the practice of composing pictures to get the most out of the real estate of the sensor size, and trying not to have to crop in processing.
