I put my Xvario on my Reprovit copy stand and have been documenting some of the tools around the studio.

I've posted additional images on my Flicker page- https://www.flickr.com/photos/94322379@N05

Julies,  welcome. Your picture is so impressive that I suggest you post it, additionally,  in the Landscape forum.

It is interesting, Mikozia, how we each see pictures differently. As soon as your seascape appeared on my screen, I saw a panoramic crop of the foreground groynes. Simply just the bottom half with no land at the top. It doesn't include your sail boat, but that is such a tiny detail set against the whole.

Added another image to my Studio Tools folder. This is a set of roulettes, stylus, burnisher, hand made in Prague.

Hi Tom,

Nice composition. What do you use these for?

Thanks farhiz, basically they are a set of tools used in etching, part of the “drawing” process in printmaking. The stylus is used to make marks directly on a copper plate (drypoint, pointe eschew, kaldnadel) or on an acid resistant ground, to expose the copper for etching. Each line and mark holds ink which is transferred to paper under the pressure in the etching press. Likewise, the roulettes can be used directly on the copper or on a ground to create unique textures.

Tom, very interesting.  Is it possible to show closeups of work in progress? Unclassified, of course.

David, thanks. Don't have any showing tools and works in progress. But a fun idea! I'll let you know when / if I get something worthy of sharing. In the meantime, on my website there are some examples of older works from the archive that made use of these tools. https://arttaj.com/works-on-paper/ I need to find one of my old mezzotints of my M6 to include on that page.

Thank you, Tom.  A fine body of work. I do like Les Fleurs. I suppose it is quite difficult for you to photograph your own hands at work. A helper?
