Roses in my back yard have continued blooming in spite of at least two cold snaps we've had this fall.  These two show evidence of frost but this morning's sun hitting them beckoned!

Pine needles swimming upstream to spawn.

Sorry, photo is not showing up :(

That's a bummer!  I tried to load a pic yesterday on another thread on the forum here. It wouldn't show up and I thought maybe it was because I hadn't placed the cursor in the field before loading my link. I didn't remember having to do that in the past although it becomes automatic whatever I do so I wasn't sure whether that was in fact my user error or the site. I kept at it, and it loaded.

Good luck Toshi...We'd would love to see spawning pine needles! :)

I too sometimes have been having difficulty loading images and get the message that image size is limited to something like 501kb, even when my files are less. I then double check, resize, and eventually get it to load. Then I see some nice images in this thread and they show up large and rich, and it makes me wonder about best practices for sizing and posting  images here.

another view and composition from a recent visit to Snoqualmie Falls. i have posted another image from this series from my m9, on my flickr account. very different shooting conditions.

And related to the above question about posting images; the raw file was converted in cap one and edited in ps. then saved as a jpeg 1200 wide, 100 ppi, with image option at 7, medium. this converts the final file to 306 kb.

I would quite like this picture minus the bottom blurred 40%. Perhaps a square format of the top part but avoiding bright water lingering at the new base.

A view from my window. This is a pano composed in LR from two shots stitched. Lens at 70 mm and Iso 100 - 1/320 at f:8. No color manipulation at all. Only some sharpening.

Found these Geese enjoying the late afternoon sunshine here in central Alberta. Glad to see one of them is wrapped up warm for the cold weather.
