Jaap, your customisation is an impressive example of how to take a nicely designed product (albeit a little contrived in its "minimalism") and turn it into something truly hideous to behold.:D I'm still not entirely sure if this some kind of wind-up (a temporary skin to create a few laughs in the forum) or whether you are serious. It's almost as if you have deliberately chosen the least tasteful option for each customisation: Leica script in bright red (tick), name engraved in ugly script font rather than a simple sans serif (tick), find the ugliest piece of leather known to humanity (tick). Reminds me of Nicolas Cage's snakeskin jacket in Wild at Heart "this here jacket represents a symbol of my individuality and my belief in personal freedom". :D

Jaap, I hope you have a full range of body tattoos to go with the camera.

There's a certain point beyond which "taste" and "restraint" become meaningless, and once into those realms, you might as well go the whole hog. My congratulations to you on going the whole hog and more, and raising a few smiles on the way!

Yes - it is quite easy to do. All my digital Ms change their appearance from time to time, just for fun. I have had a grey, bright red, green, grey, cognac and snakeskin one. At present light brown, slate blue and this lizard one. Very traditional. The Leica Luxus from 1930 had a similar leather. As to the font, that is the one that matches my handwriting quite closely. I wanted blue to emphasize that, but Leica had run out of blue paint, so it is grey. And Leica red, well, the Leica logo is red ;)

Very individualistic and fun look. Of course you will need appropriate boots and bag to match :)
