MarkP Posted June 10, 2013 Share #23 Posted June 10, 2013 I ask this most respectfully, but does that mean she prefers being on top?

Bill Allsopp Posted June 10, 2013 Share #27 Posted June 10, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sooooo! how bout those ND filters on a Noc!!!! Sunny 16 gives 1/160 @ f 16 on a sunny day with 160 iso (if memory serves me right) so to use f 0.95 6 stops of filter will get you back to 1/640 sec at the same iso. (Someone correct me if I am wrong). 6 stops seems ideal if you really do want to use it wide open.
skinnfell Posted June 10, 2013 Share #28 Posted June 10, 2013 With my settings on monochrom, I get about 1/4000 at f/5,6 in bright sunlight at lowest iso. Now imagine I had such a lens, and wanted to shoot it at max aperture in bright sunlight, and unless my math completely off there is over five stops from f5,6 to f0.95, this ND filter could prove remarkably useful, giving you about 1/2500 at max aperture. algrove Posted June 13, 2013 Share #29 Posted June 13, 2013 Not to worry, she wants a watch! Surprise her with the iWatch when it comes out. Then she can see your images on her wrist.
Bill W Posted June 13, 2013 Author Share #30 Posted June 13, 2013 Surprise her with the iWatch when it comes out. Then she can see your images on her wrist. For some reason that would not work with her.
jbl Posted June 17, 2013 Share #31 Posted June 17, 2013 I've used a 6-stop ND filter to shoot my Noctilux wide open in daylight. At least on Velvia. But the 1/4000s shutter speed makes it work. I think I only did it once though. I prefer less weight in daylight. I should try some portraiture with it though. -jbl
Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted June 21, 2013 Share #32 Posted June 21, 2013 I use a .9 ND filter on mine almost all the time Sir, What ND filter are you using (Name, brand size etc and where you can buy)
Paul J Posted June 21, 2013 Share #33 Posted June 21, 2013 Neil, Try a 60mm B+W Multicoated. 6 stop and 3 stop are both usable. The 3 stop is probably most usable. Get both if you can. Think I got mine from Ffordes.
