That's because that's where the "Mini M" discussion has been going on

I wouldn't read anything more into Jono's choice of sub-forum than that. We can tidy up the threads into an appropriate sub next Monday if necessary

And, thanks Jono :)

Jono has much time on his hands since retiring from MI6 so good to see all that covert ops training being put to good use. Very nice pics too.

I've never known a sexy Paula so it's obviously going to be a slow zoom. Rumour debunking at it's best. :D

thanks for posting

those pics are a bit soft, but I guess its jpg land which I never usually enter ;)

the resolution is 16mb, which indicates APS-C and probably a Sony sensor (no one makes a FF sensor that is 16mb to date - unless its a CMOSIS special)

bit disappointing the new 24mp sony APS-C sensor isn't in (aka the D7100) but 16mp is good enough for me

need to wait for DNG to get anything sensible

I knew it! I'll never play Poker with you.

Pete

I just knew it too :).

Whenever new Leica kit is on the horizon there are a few forum members who it's worth paying attention to. It always surprises me that more people don't pick up on that - it's not that difficult to work out who's worth looking out for.

And thanks Jono.

So 16mp, AE-P, and multi-meter exposure. Focal lengths are all zeroed with unknown aperture? Hopefully that means it's an ILC and used with an adapted lens, but I'm not holding my breath. Like the shots :)

A new Mini M sub-forum on Monday? ... and maybe Micro and Nano sub-fora too?

The Paula c/u sample pics of the dandelion and nettle look as if they were taken at less than the rumoured 30cm minimum focus distance of the rumoured zoom lens. So maybe there's an Elpro involved too ... unless it's an ILC?

Very good cross-section of shots, Jono. The new camera seems interesting and capable, but then I'm still wishing my Monochrom would wend it's way through a beleaguered production line into my shunned dealer's hands.

It is all well and good to be excited by a new camera, but Leica is burning many bridges (imo) with it's inability to deliver the goods. How long can one sustain the excitement when delivery is so many months or years behind?

Hmm. All I can make of it is that somebody has sent that beautiful Milton Brook mortar and pestle through the dishwasher. The wood looks dry and aged :p

Hi there

you're right about the handle - but we've probably had it for 30 years, and I rather like the bleached look - I'm pretty certain it's never been in the dishwasher though :)

all the best

It's the features of this camera not IQ that will make this one DOA of rumored specs are true. There are countless cameras that are much cheaper than this will be that have perfectly good IQ. Will there be some compelling reason for some to buy this other than the Leica badge?

Let me start with comments-

The pictures are over-exposed.

The pictures are under-exposed.

The JPEG engine is great.

The JPEG engine is lousy.

AWB is off.

AWB is great.

And finally... Focus is off.

And really, thanks for posting. The pictures do look quite nice.
