Interesting to compare the B/W performance of the Summicron 35 with the Elmarit 35. The Summicron is a superb lens with a similar level of detail to the Elmarit but somehow yields a "softer" (as in, less contrasty) image. A matter of taste but well worth having the choice. John, its always an interesting walk with you on the shingle beach with its abandoned stuff. I Iike the eye-dazzling amount of detail. This one has a luminous quality which stands out.
