Dev'd & scanned the roll of FP4+ in Ilfosol 3 today. Can't make up my mind which of these two frames works better. They were taken about twenty minutes or so apart and the sun moved enough to make quite a difference. Thoughts appreciated! Welcome, dear visitor! For mine, Keith, it depends on your intent as the photographer in communicating something about the structure. The second provides a good description of the structure whereby, to my eyes, the first is considerably more interpretive - it gives a greater sense of the brilliance of the design, the aesthetic appeal the architect might have had in mind for the bridge/viaduct. That line of light/shadow separating the handrail from the reflected opening is rather exquisite and adroitly placed. I like your interpretation of the first photo which reads more into it than my unimaginative little brain did - must be due to having spent my working life in various engineering (aeronautical & mechanical) roles that I still have a slight preference for second's emphasis on the bricks and overall structure (but I'm very much in the minority!) And now back to our normal programme... Same walk, camera, roll of film etc. Welcome, dear visitor! Kl@usW. Posted February 25, 2021 Share #74675 Posted February 25, 2021 Lost groundwater testing probe. I know that this picture perhaps will collect disapproval and shaking of the head--perhaps rightly so. But without being able to explain why; i love these once useful mundane objects, turned obsolete and derelict. For me they seem to struggle to stay visible and meaningful. Welcome, dear visitor!
