A friend's cafe-racer project I photographed originally in the 1970's with Hasselblad 500c/m with 80mm f2.8 on Kodak B/W film.  Slightly cropped and copied with Leica M10 + 90mm f4 Macro-Elmar mounted on goggles version macro adapter.  Original Kodak negative copied at ISO-100, F8 with auto white balance on Artograph light pad then converted to positive using Photoscape X.

I really want to get to diptychs or triptychs as cinematic scaffolding, short films, so I can create an abstract narrative. It's not simply saying there's this image plus that image, but rather it's about there being something between the two images, a simultaneity, that comes from mixing the tone of the two images. Of course, this doesn't discount the zigging and zagging that the images create beyond themselves. It's how we fill the gaps between the fragments. What Ralph Gibson calls overtones in his book of that name. So then, there's the resonance here. Phil gave me a heads up on Trent Parke's work, and in talking about his work in his latest book, Crimson Line, Parke shares his enthusiasm for listening to music (Vangelis?) while he works. His book The Black Rose is a multi-layered visual narrative that capitalizes on the rhythm of images and their juxtaposition. It's very interesting to watch the YouTube of Parke flipping through the accordion fold book of his images; there's a sense that he's animating the images from one to the next, in his mind.

Thanks, Dr. Klaus, for the voiceover to Lagoon Stories Triptych. I hear it's a story that doesn't end all that well, but then there's the question whether that tree is greeting a dawn or a sunset. Now for the soundtrack. Perhaps Brian Eno's Music for Film?

Overtones as concept  came to my mind too-- and I was aware of the ambiguity of the tree at the end of the enfolding drama.. ... but if it´s sunset, why not rest for the night and go on bright and early ?   And for the music... just listening to the tune "Bossa" by Chick Corea.. the soundtrack of my student years, still a feast for the  ears

Ouch, my math teacher rising from his silent place.... Give me the intercept of the line with the parabola...  He was a young and inexperienced guy, at one point shouting at us: You You All of You won't get anywhere!    Thank you Rog for triggering the happy and shameful memories....  And, not to be forgotten: A very powerful composition you made. From the  strong and bold red planes to the nitty gritty details...

Classic "S" composition, emphasized perspective with the three snow-covered logs, three people (one watching two walking), love it when it all comes together, click, just before the couple is obscured by the tree.

Thanks Klaus.

No filters used, just a double exposure using the FM2n. Can’t remember the order in which I took the shots, but from the look of it the blue flowers seem to overlay the yellow. (I’m useless with the names of plants, as you can see.) I seem to recollect that I had just purchased the Nikkor 50mm f1.2 (lovely lens) so had to use it wide open all the time.
