philipus Posted October 1, 2020 Share #71682 Posted October 1, 2020 Ooooh this is the stuff that exciting stuff is made of, Rog. Wow. I'm not going to ask the magician how he conjured up this trick but instead just try to pick up my jaw from the floor and stop drooling. It's as if Rembrandt teleported through time, picked up a camera and went to town. Masterful. Your whole series of the fun fair is quite captivating. (I had to throw in a little alliteration for Phil's sake, but it's the repetition that speaks to your subject going around and around. These are all mystical and fun, technically awesome. This is your next publication? So energized. Adroit capture. Your astounding series needs Steidl publication. This is lovely Wayne and reminds me of growing up in the countryside. We had lots of those old tractors around everywhere and even a John Deere shop a few villages over. Rog, these Lagoon series act as a beautiful visceral counterbalance to your highly intellectual and constructed "Bauhaus" color field works. The Lagoon series are-for me- a kind of inkblot photographies--in german Rorschach Tests-- which allow the individual onlooker to tap his or her unconscious. The beasties mentioned afore are a good example. I'm aware of the fact that everybody of us has a highly individual visual biography so everybody is resonating differently--but these lagoon pictures would grace the desk of every shrink... vor 2 Stunden schrieb Ernest: Pool M-A APO 50 ADOX Color Implosion vor 23 Stunden schrieb Suede: Preah Vihear, Cambodia. MP; 3,8/24; Portra 160@100 just my twopence on the Portra 160: I did two packs of 5 films each in my summer holidays. My overall impression is: a beautiful film for dull or overcast days, but tricky and capricious in bright sun. I tends to give bleached skies if you meter on the shadows and high contrasts are difficult to reconcile. So the lesson I learned is a bit counter-intuitive: Portra 160 for the overcast, Portra 400 or even 800 for the sunny day.... 😯 Edited October 2, 2020 by Kl@usW. 12 2
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members!
