a good simple  tutorial for the ones that still scan their negatives and getting around in troubles with grainy files, flat gradation and dull depth.
The software mentioned in the video seems to be a much better way then simple using "command+I" in Photoshop for conversing to positive.
I worked with "colorperfect" for conversion but find it is no good interface. I will have a look at this LR Plug in…

Although i find the best way to achieve a look that comes near as possible to an analogue print is simply a good repro from a good print...
But for the unprinted negs it is very good solution...

No Go Lifeguard
M-A APO 50 ADOX Color Implosion & E100
Canceling the fiction of a photograph, the lifeguard chair and sky reflection, yet creating another fiction with caution zone stripes. Is this an anti-photograph?

NLP works great, IMHO.

I shot a few test frames of the bulk film I was gifted this evening. The person who gave it to me told me it was most likely Tri-X, maybe HP5. Because of its age I shot it at ISO 100 then developed for 5 minutes in HC-110b, I was fairly confident that would give me some kind of an image and at least some edge markings to see exactly what it was.

I was not disappointed, I'm also very happy to discover the film is actually Kodak Vericolor iii. Next I need to try developing it in C-41 and see what kind of image I can get that way.

The negatives actually look a lot better than this scan shows, I laid the negs directly on the glass to get the scan, in the neg holders at the correct distance from the glass they have a lot more detail.

I call it „holidays for the eyes“. You look at the photo and you feel more relaxed.

Thanks, Marc.  Call me crazy but I fully agree 😉
