Christoph,

I recognise the picture. It's by Don McCullin. In fact it was Don McCullin's photographs that were the high-point for me!

Sid Grossman's work was clubbed with that of Eamon Doyle under one ticket. I think Doyle was riding piggyback on Grossman's brilliance there.

There's just so much going on at Arles. Here is a succinct post by Roger Hicks on Les Rencontres 2016: http://rogerandfrances.eu/photography/arles-2016

I wouldn't be able to describe the experience better.

If you like Don, i can recommend  one of his books called In England

Me too Adam, it is stunning. Makes me want to go find subjects like this for my SWC.

Here's one I took with my first Leica camera back in 2009. I later sold the R-series gear I had in favour of more M-series gear - somewhat due to the weight, but in the end I decided I preferred the rangefinder experience:

Thinking of your last post Henry. Something to remember last summer by.

This a shot of the bottom floor of a house in a very narrow street in Wetzlar taken with my M6 TTL, Kodak Ektar 100, 21mm Elmarit-M, scanned with Plustek 8200Ai.

I had just dropped off my M9 to have the sensor replaced. And none of us can resist taking a shot of this.

It's such a lovely little town, it's a pity parking for longer than a few hours is difficult.

I have a few shots too of the Leica Park too if someone would like me to post them. A few also taken with a Typ 109 too I'm afraid, but you're welcome.

Kind regards

Christopher

Henry,

You are right but I think the road was just a few metres wide with tall properties on the other side also. I had my back against another property with the 21mm on the camera trying to figure out how to capture this beautiful display and light was bouncing off everything. I suspect that's just the way it was.

I've never given it a thought either as colour is not my strength. It takes a lot of effort for me - I am very colour blind. The scanner was merely told which film it is scanning- for colour I have to rely on these presets. Shooting film helps a lot. I'll post the others shortly.

Regards

Christopher

If you allow me I remove this little green cast in looking at the stones of the ground

and the wall , what do you think ?

For your M9 picture I am not surprised of your result.

That said , sometimes in some picture of Ektar you can have a little cast it's true !
