Works for me, sometimes better than others. Church interior. Nikkor 85/1.4. I am very pleased with the detail in the book. I rested the camera on a pew, not a soul around. Guest Posted January 13, 2017 Share #26007 Posted January 13, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) This is taken, in a dark food court in the basement of a department store, with Portra 400 pushed two stops. I would also have liked to try Portra 800, on which a two-stop push would take me to ISO 3200, but that film is not available in Thailand. The Kodak film data sheets provide information on pushing Portra 800 one and two stops, but none on pushing Portra 400. Pushing Portra 400 increases contrast, which is this dark environment, I quite like. I wonder what others think? gbealnz Posted January 13, 2017 Share #26008 Posted January 13, 2017 Not really done any "pushing" even though I am an old hand at B&W, and back in the day it was something "acceptable". Now with digital it is commonplace. The result above is very very good, you'd not know that it had been pushed, very nice. Gary

Tone and colour reproduction looks excellent to me. Portra 400 does have very wide latitude. Three stops over (pulled) is well within its range too. lookbook Posted January 13, 2017 Share #26017 Posted January 13, 2017 (edited) Lookbook- really lovely abstract. What's an MD? .. Thank you for your interest Mrs. Miller, a leica md is shortened, a leica m3 without a distance meter. It was probably needed earlier for special applications in order, for example, to catalog. There was the camera then synonymous in adapted formats. Http://www.collection-appareils.fr/x/html/camera-11437-Leica_MD-Post.html I use the camera with wide angle lenses at an estimated distance. That feels very liberating! : ) The negatives from this camera can be seen on the modified negative edge on the right. Best regards Uwe P.S. Please excuse my bad English Supplement .. The Leica MD can be an affordable entry into photography with Leica cameras and should not be confused with the Leica M-D !! stray cat Posted January 13, 2017 Share #26018 Posted January 13, 2017 Here's one I took with my first Leica camera back in 2009. I later sold the R-series gear I had in favour of more M-series gear - somewhat due to the weight, but in the end I decided I preferred the rangefinder experience: Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico 2009 R8, Summicron 50mm, Orange filter, Fomapan 100
philipus Posted January 13, 2017 Share #26019 Posted January 13, 2017 This made me laugh. organist, looking for the absent audience 2017-01-12-0003.jpg m4-2 summarit90 Portra400 Rgds Joachim This, the muted slightly brownish colours and a more contrasty neg by virtue of crushed shadows, matches my experience when pushing Portra 400.
