Superb image Steve, I live down the way from you in Ashbourne. We're lucky to have all of this on our doorstep! Great shot!

During my holidays I shot 9 films, 2 portra, 7 delta, on my Rolleiflex. Total cost 370€.

Mostly exposure was good, but I screw up sometimes the loading, so I have double exposures. Also, I made quite some mistakes regarding posing and the rolleinar. Lesson learned.

For portraits, the RF is a great way to bound with strangers and get their picture. Delta is superb for that.

The colour ones turned out wonderful, loved the palette. But, without knowing, it almost is the same as my sl2s with my favorite profile from Vflow. For the price of portra, I am not sure if I will buy more…

I guess, for close up portraits the cam is great, so this might be the way to go. Will show some pictures soon.

Btw, the lab didn’t return one film, so I lost 12 images. Didn’t know a 50y old camera could be in the same league as the SL3…

Question to the wise (wo)men:

as postage to my lab is about 30€, I rather send a bunch of films at one. Shooting rolfilm, how should one store an exposed film?

In a dark place ofcourse, but in the fridge? How long can one keep the roll before sending it out ? Thanks.

Do you also accept opinions from not-so-wise men? Just kidding. Here’s my opinion, which I can't substantiate; it's more of an accumulation of impressions and knowledge particles gathered over the years that have solidified into an opinion:

The latent image on the film seems particularly vulnerable. Therefore, prompt development is certainly advisable, and I wouldn't overdo the collecting. In my experience, exposed films age rapidly, noticeable especially in contrast loss. With roll films, I have repeatedly experienced (with Kodak Tri-X, Ilford Delta 3200, and PanF) that the paper backing of the roll film can stick to the emulsion due to condensation during temperature changes, causing irreparable damage; in my case, diffuse, starry sky-like artifacts in the emulsion. Therefore, airtight storage is recommended, such as in a Zip-Lock bag at a consistent temperature, possibly with a packet of desiccant granules. I would only place the films in the refrigerator or freezer if they were previously in a dry environment.
