The Columba Museum is owned and run by the Arch-Diocese of Cologne. If you have seen the Cathedral, perhaps G.Richters window, and then had a look at the collection of Pop-Art in the Museum Ludwig and one or two local beers, you might be too tired to walk another 10 minutes to the Columba. Once a  town cloister in the reportedly most beautiful medieval part of the city, a heap of rubble after 1944, the site was partially reconstructed by the Swiss architect  Peter Zumthor to become a hidden gem among the museums of Cologne. Irrespective of your spiritual orientation, you should put the Columba on your shortlist. 

One fun-fact concerning the guy looking at the Ebony Crucifix: At the time of the creation of this crucifix, it was common belief that vision was  an invisible extension of the human body and that the beam of vision would connect  with the object.  So looking at a religious piece of art was a kind of worship, as it would connect the divine object with the human subject physically.. 

( for the design nerds: the table is a so called " Eiermann-Table"; after the famous post war architect. The typewriter is an Olivetti; you are encouraged to use it and leave your thoughts... )

Colour recomposed from 3 RGB filtered B&Ws. Came out badly because after the first red filter shot, the sun came out through the trees causing a great deal of flare on the green and blue plastic filters.

The above rendered as a negative.

Crop of the above with level adjustment of red, green and blue. The shot was then "upscaled" with software called Real-ERSGAN using its "anime" model. This gave a more fake looking render than with the "base" model, but I chose it because of better contrast.

Hand held. Nikon F2 Photomic, Micro-Nikkor 55mm 1:2.8 Ais, red, green and blue filters, Ilford Delta 100 @ 80, PMK 1:2:100 10' 24°C.

Interesting result. In theory you could adjust the focus with each picture to compensate for focus shift due to the different wavelength (of a non-apo corrected lens), achieving apo quality. You may have to use a rather robust tripod though … 🙄
