In the spirit of your psychedelia I revisited a picture I'd done a while back. Playing with sliders and contrast and all those other cool things in photoshop can sometimes lead you down some pretty mind-expanding paths. Who said we film shooters can't have some digital fun?

Phil, I’d be really impressed had you achieved that effect in the Darkroom ... 😁

Thank you Ken, I really like mistakes like this. In fact I like all my bad exposures so much that I've made a special, never-ending project about them:

those are wonderful "mistakes".

Thank you Rog, these are really exciting. And they make me wonder if its wouldn't be possible to build an impossible figure that works, visually, from one and only one vantage point.

I think it is pretty safe to say that page 3598 of this glorious thread has been its most mind-expanding and adventurous page so far :) Wow, this is such a cool effect, love it. And it goes to prove the wonderful little maxim that "there's always a nugget of good in a bucket of cr@p" :D

Great photo Bo. Makes me wonder who's in captivity.

Nice push to 1600. I thought Fomapan 400 was not that great for pushing.

m sorry to hear of your M6 troubles Antonio. I hope it'll work out. But this certainly looks great to my eyes. Looks extremely sharp. And it that developer seems to give people a nice tan, too.

HC110 dilution B (1:31), 13 minutes. Initial agitation for one minute. 10 seconds each minute thereafter. I also fixed for a minute or two longer than usual.

I have also been trying to improve my very poor metering judgement and practice. These were all strictly incident metering.

Maybe I should invest in a 100ft bulk roll for the wintertime

I think these the best result I have ever achieved with any Foma- maybe any B&W- film. It is odd to do it at a two stop push. Makes me wonder about the Foma 100 and 200.... :)

The "Hovel" shot was in real low light.

Being a world traveler with an unbelievable,  enviable frequent flyer miles account, you no doubt spent a good amount of time in the Haight Ashbury district of San Francisco in the late 60s. The old joke, though, is that if you remember the 60s, you weren’t really there. Ha, Ha, Ha. I realize it was way before your time.

Certainly a nation of "cooked people", as it was for us as youngsters here. Not now though, melanoma has reared it's ugly head.

I do think the sun has become more intense in later times though. And from our limited times in Europe, the sun is "kinder" there, than compared to NZ.

New expressway, and alongside it there is a "monument" of which I have yet to find out the significance. It begs for a night astro star rising milky way type shoot too.

I do like the Foma films, for some reason found the 100 and 400 fine, and my preferred choice of 200 not so. Weird. Now I am on coffee development I might try some more.
