Hi Charles,

Very nice, you nailed that moment. Was this on your backpacking tour in SA?

All the best,

C.

Hi Christoph

Thank you! Yes it is, from the visit in 2018 as remedy for my (unsatisfied) wonderlust ... to review my travel photographs and share. 🙂

Take care

Charles

corridors tend to be slippery when wet, but also when Rog is about. In this case, you need to stare down the red before you get the green light to enter ...

valse viennoise is so explicitly non corona-correct, I can only dream of it. BTW, I like this kind of picture, inconspicuous at first glance, but getting better, the more you look at them..

Sometimes I wait a few days before checking in on the thread, just to have several pages of photography to go through. It's like crack, you know (or so I've heard lol). It gets better the more you get. Erm. Well. On with the show.

In today's programme we'll look at photographic goof-ups. Here I didn't only manage to include a piece of myself - a finger to be specific - but also my ice cream cone.

well, waiting for the man... we all have our habits, Philip 😇 The finger problem: I know it two well. After my first snow-shoeing in Lapland using my my newly bought 5,6/ 28 Summaron I was very excited when the rolls returned  from the lab: only to find my mittens in the middle of  most frames..

Very nice Gary,  couldn't be better with a fresh film...

very nice! what was that taken with?  I have been experimenting with my H503cx, 80mm lens and 35mm extension tube - it's interesting as the depth of field is approximately zero point zero!!

thank you, nefarious. That's very kind. I myself could and can spend  hours with a macro-set up--playing for adults of the other kind. This was taken with a Canon 1 V with an adapted Leica-R Elmarit 2,8/60. It´s the one R-lens I have kept from quite a number of R-lenses and its still a phantastic lens. The film was Portra 160 .

Makro with the Hassi is big fun too... if that's your kind of thing--think of the automatic bellows-last version. Its quite affordable and a treasure trove of possibilities. You don't need a Makro lens-the 80 Planar will do. Well, for the beginning.. 😊

Thomas is getting rather good at ignoring me and my cameras

Thomas by chrism229, on Flickr

Though he had to pay attention this morning when I took the Chamonix out. Two sheets currently standing in Rodinal, so we'll see if I remembered how to do it (and whether he kept still in the rather long pause between focusing and clicking the shutter (put down loupe, take off dark cloth, insert film holder, close shutter, change shutter speed from B to 1/50th, cock shutter, close aperture down to f8, switch on strobe, take out dark slide and READY!)

I don't think the temptation can be that strong - my 4x5 failed to sell when I tried to simplify my photographic life. So I decided I might as well use it again!
