Hi Charles,

Very nice, you nailed that moment. Was this on your backpacking tour in SA?

All the best,

C.

After all the great black&white images on the last pages I want to show you some from a roll of film I exposed in one of my old folding cameras. From the 8 exposures on the roll only two where not usable due to bad focus or shaky hands. If one puts some effort in the process of picture taking with these old cameras, they are able to deliver astonishingly good results - at least for my tastes.

Really good, I've never seen this view before.

I really dig this one. And very competently exposed indeed.

I had to look up what a Kodak Retina Type 010 is. I really like the vintage painterly effect.

Brilliant. And amazing that they had such a large sign in the middle of the office.

Camera was a Leica 111A with  the lovely little Voigtlander 15mm F4.5 non coupled lens.

Film was Fomapan 200 in D76.

Great results Chris, and great to see you back here!

I don't seem to be able to stop making inappropriate combinations of film and developer, and worrying at them until they work. This is XP2 Super (what else!) at ISO 200 in Diafine, and developed with continuous agitation for 5+5 minutes in the motorised Rondinax.:

I'm afraid I cut off the top of my head, but there was only me at home and I needed to try it out. Anyway, I'm delighted with the minimal grain and thus the film was not wasted.

What a cracker!

I'm pretty sure I haven't posted this picture in this thread, although it might have appeared in Adam's Life's a Beach or Ain't Life a Beach or whatever thread. Apologies if you've seen it, but it's one of my better pictures I think:

Venice Beach 2016

Leica, 50mm, Yellow filter, Silvermax 100

Perfect timing Steve, well done.

As it's V-E day celebration time both of the aircraft in this image were saved from being scrapped in the 1950's by my late ex father-in-law.
This was the first time I had seen them together, quite a moment. The Spitfire is parked and the Hurricane flies past.

Both aircraft saw action in WW2 and have been restored to full flying condition.  They are in the Shuttleworth Collection, based at Old Warden airfield in Bedfordshire.

What a truly creative idea. Really love the results.

Sometimes I wait a few days before checking in on the thread, just to have several pages of photography to go through. It's like crack, you know (or so I've heard lol). It gets better the more you get. Erm. Well. On with the show.

In today's programme we'll look at photographic goof-ups. Here I didn't only manage to include a piece of myself - a finger to be specific - but also my ice cream cone.

Thank you very much.
It is slow to photograph using a meterless M4 and an analog lightmeter, but the results are rewarding when you do things by the book, I metered incident light at the paintings.

Framing could be better, but had to eyeball roughly with the camera held on floor to avoid shake.

Ah, we've all done that. I note though, not much ice-cream left in the cone, tipped out or consumed?
