This is great, Phil. It's as if one can feel the sunlight.

The second one is particularly fine, Gary. Very nice.

I like this one, very interesting perspective.

Love this one Henry, and not only for the contrail.

Now for two impressions of some fern, which is one of the coolest plants I know. 80 Planar as usual.

Gentlemen, The wealth of colour from these photographs is almost overwhelming, each has a harmony and individuality of course, but the effect as they pass the review is one of excitement.

Thank you

Thank you so much Philip and "Overwhelmed Charles"! We live in such a colourful world, it deserves to be celebrated.

Philip, a special mention for your plant photos using the Hasselblad and extension rings. They are universally delightful. It is so nice to get in so close to these beautiful examples of nature.

Reflection with variation in color is really nice

Color is beautiful here.

How much for each of your image file ? more than 5000 x 4500 px ?

Can you improve the definition with the Pakon ?

Thanks for posting

Henry

Thank you Henry.

The Pakon is a 6MP scanner (3000x2000). For high resolution scanning I have two options: a PrimeFilm XA (10,000 dpi, but probably 4000 dpi true optical, it does have autofocus which helps); and a 24MP (6000 x 4000) camera setup with a BEOON.

The Pakon is really perfect for contact sheet and web. After development put the uncut reel in and a minute or two later the whole roll is scanned at 6MP per frame with perfect colour, so easy, saves so much time.

For printing I prefer the darkroom and my enlarger...

So Delta 100 Henry. This with the R8 makes me think it was a while ago?

You liked the Delta 100? Has T-Max 100 replaced it for you?

Gary, many years ago I was fan of Ilford and I bought a lot of Ilford Delta 100,HP5 ...

Now I am a lot with Kodak specially for color... before it's Fuji

I think they are all nice and good !

In monochrome , Kodak TX has my favor and secondly TMAX 100 or 400 , TMAX has a little smooth lines

smooth like Acros Fuji . In Kodak you have BW400CN but now not produced !

Still on colour, here's a little bit of red for Henry and some Contax for Gary:

Contax G2, Vario-Sonnar G 35-70mm, Portra 400

Phil , you have a nice contrast , nice color here and great details in the shadows.

As you know and I agree with GaryGS , good camera and lens are also important for the success

of one picture . Vario Sonnar is a Zeiss lens ?

Thanks for posting Phil

Gary , as I just said above in the 1990's during one of my humanitarian mission

for color , I had a lot of Fuji film like Superia 100 , a very nice film and not too expensive,

developed by french Fuji official lab !

Here some pictures

I must recognize that Fuji has his fingerprint for color, contrast and definition

I also used Fuji slides specially Velvia , Provia and Sensia

I understand that some of you like Fuji digit cameras for convenience and

Fuji fingerprint , specially for the Fuji Color.

IMO Kodak and Fuji are two great film brands :)

... and that's also the reason I prefer CCD Kodak sensor in M8 and M9 (vivid color)

versus CMOS senor (neutral color) as said Erwin Puts ...

Wow! I wish Fuji Superia 100 available today. These are spectacular, Henry. I guess I have to consider that much of this result is attributable to the man behind the lens. Have you recently used Superia 200? Were you able to get results anywhere near as good as these? If not, any chance of convincing you to try a roll with same camera and lens?

Wayne I'll post some pictures with Sup 200 it's also fine.

These pictures posted in the post above come from negatives developed in C41 process

by a official Fuji Lab. I don't dev myself at this time !

Finally I've got a bit more time so to start with, I'd like to show you my contribution for this year's Melbourne challenge.

Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here…

M4-P, 35, Rollei IR400, 92 Filter, exposed at 25ASA, developed in Rodinal 1:50

When I heard Melbourne and Australia, I immediately visualised the burning sun, and to up the challenge a bit I decided to use an IR film as there should be enough light to take pictures free hand. The day before the challenge I saw that a large tattoo convention was taking place in Melbourne, and decided to photograph the participants. IR pictures of people imbue them with a marble-like skin, and I was hoping the tattoos would offer a nice contrast. Unfortunately, however the day was rather overcast with little direct sunlight. So I photographed at the entrance, asking people entering or exiting, and having a great many interesting conversations. I chose the above picture as entry for the competition. In the voting, I think it landed somewhere in the middle. I suspect the reason is that people either really like this picture or really don't (With one exception I only got 3 points or none).

Thx and rgds

Thanks .... if you have more :) ?

I always have a few up my sleeve Henry! Also tomorrow I'm leaving for Madrid for 5 days, and I'm bringing only my R8 with Kodak PORTRA 400/160. Although I almost wonder why spent so much money on the expensive film if the AGFA Vista 200 already does so good (the above where on Vista 200)
