stray cat Posted February 24, 2017 Share #28661 Posted February 24, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Great pictures Adam. I found that building in your picture, behind the WTC site, quite disappointing when I visited in September, although the reflecting pools at the actual site provided (to me at least) an incredibly thought-provoking response.

christoph_d Posted February 24, 2017 Share #28662 Posted February 24, 2017 The bottle probably is hers, thinking about it in retrospect. She looks as if she's plastered. Yes, waiting for the right person (or persons) to pass by can be fraught with frustration, and i think we've probably all experienced it. Sometimes it happens in serendipitous ways and this is what makes a great photograph - Adam's snow series are great examples of that. The mobile phone zombies are certainly everywhere but rarely very photogenic - there is something about the practice that seems to negate good photographs. But an unkempt nun ("nunkempt"?) as you suggest would be good, or even better a nude one. Or maybe not. Phil, This all sounds only too familiar. In my experience usually one or both of the following scenarios play out: 1. The perfect "model" has just passed the scene, but too fast for me to raise the camera in time. 2. After unsuccessfully having waited a long time for another perfect "model" to enter the scene, I move on, only to see the perfect "model" to arrive when I am far enough away not to be able to take a good photo anymore ... Noone said it would be easy... Rgds C.
A miller Posted February 24, 2017 Share #28663 Posted February 24, 2017 Great pictures Adam. I found that building in your picture, behind the WTC site, quite disappointing when I visited in September, although the reflecting pools at the actual site provided (to me at least) an incredibly thought-provoking response. Thanks, Phil. I agree with you. The Occulus is quite sterile. Perhaps when the entire area around it is fully built is will express a different vibe...

wattsy Posted February 24, 2017 Share #28665 Posted February 24, 2017 These are great, Adam. I particularly like how the purple of the umbrella is echoed in the Jet.com ad and the yellow of the sunglasses in the other photo is echoed in the ad behind. Love that purple and the use of sunglasses in the dark morning blizzard.... I remember once I tried for ages to find suitable "model" in front of a great backdrop at Luna Park in St. Kilda here in Melbourne, and then when I'd put the camera back in the bag and walked a little way away a stunning girl who was so obviously a "real" model walked right through my scene being dragged by a couple of huge Doberman Pinschers. Aaaaagh we share with fishermen the frustration of the one that got away... Edited February 24, 2017 by stray cat

stray cat Posted February 24, 2017 Share #28676 Posted February 24, 2017 (edited) This is a fabulous photograph Stray Cat. Ticks all there boxes for me, except if only there was a stray cat in front of that white wall!!! Mark Thank you sincerely, Mark, that's a very kind thing to say. Anyway, this Stray Cat was in front of the wall! But I take your point - a cat there would have been... the cat's whiskers! Purrfect! (Any more of these lousy puns and I'll have to be lined up in front of the wall!). Edited February 24, 2017 by stray cat
