This picture is for Xenia who loves sunset in contre-jour !

If you look in the foreground there is a clump of grass in "green"
That's the difference I was talking about and that Ian (Wattsy) talked about.
Details and color still visible in the shadow versus digital > all is black !

More sensitivity and dynamic with film (I have the same picture with my M9 in

comparison)

Hi All, thanks to some of you for your moral support. It's warm to see that we're not alone. Thanks to Gary, Ric for a thought for me.Thanks also to Adam regarding some who are only passing here and whom Adam

calls "viewers" and who never post a lesser photo. Thanks to Ian for explaining that I am like him, demanding on the photo (details and color in the shadows)

and that I always photograph in difficult conditions (against light, darkness) compared with digital

Merry Christmas to you, Doc, and thanks for helping me improve my photography in 2016. Peter

Morning, Christmas Day here, and off to be with the family, OK my "other family". Christmas lunch and get together.

Good to have this (Forum) family to be with during the year, and it has been said so eloquently by Xenia, but I agree with this, it is a good forum, and little bickering.

Good to have you back Doc, I thought we'd lost you for a while.

Merry Christmas all.

Bonjour Henry et un très grand remercie. Salutations d'ici au Québec à La Belle France.

I looked at my post from 2013, and I think that I still agree with myself. Hmmmm.

I will have to start posting a bit.

A merry Christmas to you and all who participate here - a fine and important thread in a fine forum.

I'll post more fog for Ric !

In waiting for fog , I'll start posting for you from now , photos taken "against the light"

called in french "contre-jour" or "backlit" in english ? , sometimes in difficult conditions of light
I like the backlit pictures and you ... like Xenia , IanWattsy, Adam ...
